Warning label missing from cross view mirror/fmvss 111
Defect Summary
Greenpower motor company inc. (greenpower) is recalling certain 2020-2024 nano beast and 2021-2024 beast school buses. The cross view mirror is designed to only view pedestrian around stopped buses. The label warning drivers not to use the mirror to view vehicular traffic may be missing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 111, "rear visibility."
Safety Consequence
Without a warning label, the driver may use the altered view to see other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Greenpower will inspect and install the label as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed may 4, 2026. Owners may contact greenpower's customer service at 1-909-346-1090. Greenpower's number for this recall is gp-svs-26-001.
