Defect Summary
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain 2026 freedom aire motorhomes. The cargo carrying capacity (ccc) label may state an incorrect weight value. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 120, “wheels and rims - other than passenger cars.”
Safety Consequence
Incorrect weight information can allow the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed june 27, 2026. Owners may contact newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar's number for this recall is 631 rsb.
