Voltage spikes from power distribution module
Defect Summary
Altec industries, inc. (altec) is recalling certain 2020 ta series, 2019 l series aerial device, 2018-2025 service body, ls series, and at series trucks. The power distribution module (pdm 10) circuit may experience a voltage spike, which can damage the transfer case control module (tccm) and disrupt chassis functions, including the pto switch, rearview mirror, or rearview camera.
Safety Consequence
A damaged tccm and disrupted chassis functions can result in a loss of handling and control or brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Altec will install a diode to the ignition hot circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed august 8, 2025. Owners may contact altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is csn-3229.
