Improper lug nut torqueing
Defect Summary
Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2012 bc1200xl brush chipper trailers because the lug nuts may not have been properly torqued. as a result, the lug nuts could loosen and the wheels could separate from the bush chipper.
Safety Consequence
If the wheels separate from the brush chipper, there is an increased risk of personal injury, property damage or a crash.
Corrective Action
Vermeer will notify owners, and dealers will properly torque the lug nuts, free of charge. the recall began on august 21, 2012. owners may contact vermeer at 1-641-628-3141.
