Defect Summary
Daimler coaches north america (daimler coaches) is recalling certain 2009-2020 setra s417 and 2012-2019 setra s407 vehicles. The switches for the hazard warning lights, defroster, heating and air conditioning system, and fan speed may fail to illuminate correctly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 101, "control and displays."
Safety Consequence
The driver may be distracted by switches that are too bright or by searching for switches that are too dim or not illuminated, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Daimler coaches will repair the hazard warning lights switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed may 11, 2026. Owners may contact daimler coaches' customer service at 1-416-624-3558.
