Defect Summary

Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2025 ranger, lincoln nautilus, mustang, maverick, explorer, escape, lincoln corsair, bronco sport, and bronco vehicles. The exhaust gas recirculation (egr) valve may fail, resulting in an unexpected loss of drive power.

Safety Consequence

An unexpected loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

The remedy is currently under development. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed march 20, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in september 2026. Owners may contact ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26s10. Vehicle identification numbers (vins) involved in this recall became searchable on nhtsa.gov on march 4, 2026.
