Defect Summary

Reading truck body, llc (reading) is recalling certain 2021 rail gear hd trucks. Welds may crack and fail, allowing the front rail gear to shift and contact the road.

Safety Consequence

The rail gear dragging on the ground can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Reading will reweld the joints between the rail gear and chassis, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed august 5, 2025. Owners may contact reading's customer service at 1-610-775-3301.
