Defect Summary

General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500 and 3500 hd vehicles manufactured october 1, 2013 to september 20, 2014, and 2015 gmc sierra 2500 and 3500 hd vehicles manufactured september 30, 2013, to september 20, 2014. the power steering hose clamp may disconnect from the power steering pump or gear, causing a loss of power steering fluid.

Safety Consequence

A loss of power steering fluid could result in a loss of power steering assist and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Gm will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to make sure the power steering hose clamps are properly secured, free of charge. the recall began on august 29, 2014. owners may contact gm customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (chevrolet) or 1-800-462-8782 (gmc). gm's number for this recall is 14356.
