Defect Summary

On certain fire trucks built with detroit diesel series 60 egr engines, the battery to starter motor cable rubs against the hex-head plug on the fuel filter causing insulation damage and unintentional grounding.

Corrective Action

Dealers will replace the hex head plug on the fuel filter with a 3/8" allen-head plug free of charge. if the cable is damaged, it will be replaced. the recall began on april 1, 2005. owners may contact e-one at 1-352-237-1122.
